The Laundry Nazi
That would be me.
I am feeling torn right now. It is midnight. The laundry room hours are 8 AM - 11 PM. I heard somebody tiptoe down to the laundry room and then loudly turn on the and machine run! This whole caretaker thing is frustrating. I'm not about to repeal the laundry room hours(since it IS right below our bedroom). I am tempted to just go and shut it off. A consequence of their breaking the rules. Except it doesn't really happen often. And the laundry machines WERE busy all day today.
But still, they're like children (tenants). It's all about discipline. Plus, we just gave one of the tenants a warning telling her she was going to be evicted if she broke the no noise after 11 PM rule again. It's one of those things, once in a while is OK... 5 days a week is not!(We didn't even get to the unspoken don't-repackage-illegal-drugs-in-the-building rule with her).
How can I enforce those rules, but not the laundry room ones? I don't know, but here I sit, typing away, debating.
Wow, they are in the room right now, I can hear them below me. As I type this, do I dare go?
I can think of thousand good reasons not to let people run the machines past 12. Especially the ones involving flooding and fire.
*SIGH* What's a girl to do? Pretend she never heard it, I suppose.
